ELIGIBILITY:
- Age
- Young woman must be enrolled in High School.
- If elected Queen is a senior and attends college elsewhere, lst Runner-up will reign in her
absence.
- One contestant from each of the 4-H Clubs in Hays County
- One contestant from each of the High School FFA Chapters in Hays County.
- Queen candidates will be available to assist as needed during the Show and
Sale.
- Be available to pass out Ribbons at all events.
- Pass out refreshments and assist the Buyers at the Sale.
- Available for any other duties as assigned by the Chairman.
- Queen will be announced during a scheduled time at the Horse Show and will rein for that year.
RESUME:
- A sealed resume with a signed seal with contestant's signature must
be submitted to your Vocational Agriculture Teacher or County Agent by the same
deadline as other show entries. The resume must contain the following:
- Scholastic or Academic Achievements (25%) - (transcript of high school grades)
- Extra participation (25%) - (Activities and achievements in FFA or 4-H, Civic, Community,
School, Honors won, Offices Held)
- Submit Picture with Resume - any size to help Judges identify contestant.
JUDGES'INTERVIEW:
- Ten minute visit with each contestant (25%)
- Poise and Appearance ( grace, grooming, posture, coordination, taste, and
appearance in dress) (25%)
JUDGES:
3 (three) People from outside Hays County
Receipt Of Award:
The Hays County Livestock Exposition will give one (1)
$250.00 scholarship to the Queen upon proof of enrollment with a college /
university or technical trade school.
